The importance of temperature when serving wine
Unfortunately, red wines are usually served too warm. The alcohol tends to predominate, concealing the fruit of the wine. As a result, the wine loses its typicity and personality. The RAVI Wine Chiller enables you to go instantaneously from room temperature to that of a wine cellar, namely between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius. When you’re enjoying white wine or rosé wine, the RAVI can cool a wine that has been left at room temperature for a little too long.
The table below shows the suggested temperatures for various wine types:
"...the temperature of a wine not only changes the mouth feel but also alters the balance of its elements. Chilling a wine lowers the perception of residual sugar and brings the freshness (acidity) to the fore... If a red wine gets too warm, it starts to lose its structure and becomes soupy." - Tony Aspler. www.TonyAspler.com
